Faith is One!

Hey guys! I'm back to share with you all my daughter Faith's first birthday!!  She turned a year old on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Although, it was over 3 weeks ago I still cannot believe one year has passed. Sometimes, I really miss her as a baby because she couldn't walk over the house, try to knock the gate down, or throw food on the floor lol, nonetheless, I really enjoy watching her growing and learning. It's funny because it seems like she grew overnight. As soon as she turned one, she started acting older. Whenever we get ready in the mornings she tries to comb her hair, wear her clothes and put on her socks and shoes herself, and if I don't let her she will not be happy. She has many words such as thank you, please, more, good girl, gba (take in yoruba), bye bye and hi,dada and mama which she finally started saying. The only times she is till babyish is when she wants to breastfeed.

Anyway, I want to share about her birthday party!! I had so much fun planning this party. Those of you who know me know, that I love planning parties and I want to be a professional event planner. I started planning her party when she was only a few months old. I wasn't too sure of the theme but it was between Minnie Mouse and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I finally decided on The Very Hungry Caterpillar because I read that book to her everyday when she was a few months and she always seemed to love it. I also decided on that theme because I felt that every child knows that story.

Now, when it came on choosing a location my final choice was not my first. At first, I was going to do her party at a hall like most people usually do or do the party at our house. I cancelled the house option because I was afraid of my house being turned upside down lol. So since I scratched the house idea I began looking for a hall. I finally found a nice size hall that was about 5 min from our house. So since i got the hall I started seeking out entertainment for the kids, DJ's, photographers etc.

Upon seeking out kid's entertainment, I discovered another location option. It was My Gym, a children's fitness center similar to Gymboree which many people know of.  I found out that they host birthday parties as well. I thought it would be a better option than a hall party. After doing research between My Gym, Gymboree, and The Little Gym I finally decided to do her party at My Gym. I chose My Gym because I knew Faith and all her friends would actually have fun at the party.

Our wonderful friends & family!
So on Saturday, October 4, we all crawled over to My Gym for her very hungry caterpillar party. The kids got to have free play for awhile, then they did circle time. After circle time, it was time to sing happy birthday, cut the cake and eat!! We had pizza for the kids and rice, meat, meat pie, and puff puff for the adults. After all this, the kids got to play again. I had fun and I know the kids did as well!
I would like to thank everyone who came out and celebrated with us...we really appreciate you!!

Special thanks to my lil sis who stayed up with me putting everything together.

Till next time! Stay blessed!
