Love This Christmas

With Christmas just a few days away I’ve been thinking about what Christmas means to me. To many of us Christmas is symbolic of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christmas is also that time when we give and receive gifts. The reason we give gifts is in representation of God giving us His son, Jesus. God gave us His son to save us for our sins, but even more because He loves us. God’s love is the main reason we have a Christmas to celebrate. As I look back at this past year God has given me so much. I say I am blessed but the more I think about it; I am loved. We give gifts to those we love and God constantly blesses me because He loves me.

Yesterday morning I was able to tune in to the service at my NJ church AHOW and ironically my pastor’s message was about God’s love. He read from a familiar verse to us all John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son, that whosoever believed in Him would not perish but have everlasting life”. I don’t know about you, but I want that everlasting life. However, many of us do not understand what it means to have God’s love. He also said the reason many of us find it hard to embrace God’s love is because of rejection and that the only solution for rejection is a complete revelation of the father’s love to us. You can listen to the whole message here. The pastor at the church I went to in Texas also touched on God’s love. He said without God’s love there will be no unity and he encouraged us all to make peace with people who may have hurt us this Christmas.

So in the end without love there would be no Christmas. This Christmas remember to show love to everyone because God shared his ultimate love with us by sending His son and don’t forget those who may have offended you or vice versa. I pray you all will find and experience God’s true love this Christmas.
