2013: My Year of Faith

I am in awe that 2013 will be over today. My oh my has this been an interesting year for me. January to December was full of lots of surprises. I started off this year finding out I was pregnant and ended this year with a new addition to my family. In between January and December so many other great things have happened to me. I am so excited to step in to 2014 because I know the best is yet to come.

I call 2013 my year of Faith because I don’t think I would be where I am today if not for faith. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see [Hebrews 11:1]. This year my church AHOW started a 21 day fast and prayer. At first, I did not think I could do it for the whole days and I contemplated cutting the fast short but once I started I knew I had to complete the fast to receive my full blessing. The fast was challenging as it was the longest fast I have ever done but it was very rewarding. During the fast I prayed for a baby girl and that my husband would receive a better job and a few other things and God answered every one of my prayers! Yes He is an awesome God!!

During my pregnancy I had to have a lot of Faith to have a successful pregnancy and delivery. Even when the devil wanted to scare me early in my pregnancy I had to remember to pray and have faith that God who started a good thing in me would see it to completion and that He did! I had a great and wonderful symptom free pregnancy!
Some of you may not know but last year I was diagnosed with a benign tumor in one of my breasts. It is something that I came to terms with even though deep down in my heart I knew it did not have to remain a part of me. Last year at my church retreat I prayed that the tumor would be gone and that I would go to my church retreat this year tumor free. Over the months I never thought about the tumor until I got pregnant and I prayed that I would not have the tumor by the time by baby arrives. I can testify today that God healed me from the tumor without having to do any surgery!! I did mention that my God is awesome right??!!
I had to take that big leap of faith and trust that God has a purpose of moving my family to Texas.

I can go on and on about how God blessed me this year. However, it is my faith that carried me through this whole year. My faith in God has increased so much. Now you can see why I named my baby girl Faith. She is a constant reminder of how great and faithful God is. My prayer for you is that you will all walk into the new year with faith and not by sight [2 Corinthians 5:7].

Happy New Year and God bless you all!
